Our Services

We provide assessment and treatment of the following areas:

  • Difficulty making sounds in words and sentences. This can make it challenging for your child to be easily understood by others and can cause frustration.

  • Difficulty expressing ideas clearly and effectively with appropriate grammar, vocabulary and sentence structure as well as retelling events in order.

  • Difficulty understanding language or following directions and instructions.

  • Difficulty with early literacy skills such as syllable counting, rhyming and identifying and manipulating sounds in words or later literacy skills such as blending and segmenting to read and write.

  • Disruptions to the normal flow of speech, also known as stuttering. This can be heard as repetitions of part words, whole words or phrases, elongations of sounds or blocks, whereby the next sound or word gets stuck.

  • Difficulty understanding and using appropriate social conversation skills to communicate and build friendships.

  • Language Development Centre Applications

The Language Development Centre (LDC) is a specialised government funded school for children who have a speech and language impairment. The LDC provides specialised language support for children with a primary diagnosis of Developmental Language Disorder from Kindergarten to year 2. It is a competitive school equipped with speech pathologists in small class-rooms to maximise each child’s growth and learning opportunities. At Look Who's Talking, we can assist in an application to the LDC. Contact us to find out more information about the assessment and application process.

  • Kindergarten and Pre-primary Screeners

We know that early intervention is critical, so we strive to provide opportunities for all children to be offered support when required. That’s why at Look Who’s Talking, we offer Kindergarten and Pre-primary screening assessments to assess speech, language, and early literacy skills. Contact us to organise screening assessments in your school.
